The media whom persist as gossip followers of Julian Knight (being the political prisoner variety out there) and since 1987 vultures of reporting his every move and event, otherwise self-appointed psycho-analysts, else just fake story tellers/conspiracy theorists for some news grab – ought to frankly benefit from regular monitoring this webpage within this website. These literary coward punchers have never gone after the root cause – Duntroon senior cadets’ incessant bastardisation of Army Officer Staff Cadet Julian Knight in 1987.
We offer up this webpage in all honesty and frankness and for convenience, and since of late, this website has broadened its topic coverage to non-Knight specific matters (though not new newsworthy), yet no less associated with Julian’s plight and experiences:
The media and frankly anyone is free to quote from this website.
Back on Friday 26 Sep 2025, our Julian was formally transferred by Corrections Victoria from Port Phillip Prison (2025-2025) to Loddon Prison (2025+) situated in regional Castlemaine (but it was not to the minimum security Middleton Prison adjacent, dudes!). Fake news have claimed that Julian is now in some Middleton “campus” or “caravan park”. No! He remains in a prison cell, so stop making up fake news just to sell more newspapers!
Just days later, Corrections Victoria in their wisdom then despatched Julian from Loddon Prison back to Port Phillip Prison. Supposedly it was a more convenient logistical holding prison to enable his long pre-arranged medical appointment in Melbourne to proceed. Corrections Victoria’s left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing? Does he earn frequent flyer points for all the transfers?
Whilst training at the Royal Military College at Duntroon in 1987, Julian suffered three separate bashings to his nose. The first was on 23rd May that year by ADFA cadets as he was leaving an Canberran nightclub (the notorious ‘Private Bin’ in Civic) with his fellow cadets, in which Julian received a punch to his nose causing an “undisplaced nose fracture” (Julian’s account). The second incident took place was inside the Private Bin in the early hours of Sunday 31 May 1987, when fellow senior cadet of RMC Kokoda Company senior SCT Craig THORP punched him in the face causing his nose to bleed. Moments later during the same encounter, fellow senior cadet of RMC Kokoda Company senior SCT Philip REED coward punched Julian from the side hitting him squarely in the centre of the face. “The force of the blow split the bridge of my nose.” (Julian’s account).

Hey, star of Holywood movie First Blood (1982), Silvester Stalone, who inspired many a military recruit back then (including Julian and others) was finally in December 2025 awarded the American Kennedy Center Honor award by President Donald J. Trump – watch:
That was some 38 years ago. During the time Julian had ‘trained’ at RMC, up until his eventual formal discharge on 24th July 1987, the Army had ignored his nose injuries. “As for GPs, if the Army doctor at 5 Camp Hospital [RMC] had treated my nose in 1987, I would not be awaiting nose surgery in 2025.” (Julian’s account)
During the decades since, Julian has suffered breathing difficulties. This has been long communicated to and known by Victorian State Government’s prison authorities ‘Corrections Victoria’ since 1987, yet no medical treatment has been provided to Julian for his Duntroon nose bashings. This constitutes another form of bastardisation, this time by the Victorian prison authorities. It also constitutes multiple years of disability associated with his nose bashing at Duntroon, and the denial of treatment constitutes humans rights abuse both by the Australian Army and Corrections Victoria by the repeated denial of Julian’s requested medical treatment of his nose injuries sustained whilst serving in the Australian Army.
Slow-forward 38 years to July 2025, medical staff at Port Phillip Prison (he was incarcerated there 2005-2025) finally arrange for him to visit a medical specialist nose surgeon concerning his long broken nose.
[Trivia Note : The medical nose surgeon specialist is referred to as ‘ENT’ (Ear, Nose, and Throat) specialist, and the surgeon is a Otolaryngologist. (Try saying that backwards fast three times.) The term otolaryngologist (or its longer form, otorhinolaryngologist) derives from ancient Greek roots describing the body parts they treat: “oto-” (ear, from ous), “rhino-” (nose, from rhis), “laryngo-” (throat/larynx, from larynx), and “-logy” (study of, from logos), meaning the “study of the ear, nose, and throat. There ya go – readers will know all about it now.]
So Julian gets to finally meet a nose surgeon at a prisoner secure section within St Vincent’s Hospital (Melbourne). “My surgery should be this side of Christmas…She said she would cut the base of my nose then drill out the crushed cartilage.”
So after a weekend at Loddon Prison run directly by Corrections Victoria under Minister Enver Erdogan since 2022, on the Monday 29th September 2025, just three days after Julian arriving at Loddon, they despatch him back to Port Phillip Prison. He was treated like a political football – perhaps because the AFL Grand Fina had been held over that past weekend so may be that’s how the prison thugs conjured the idea.
“Prison Thugs”…well recall Julian;s account on arrival at HM Pentridge…
Nose Surgery Thursday 18 Sep 2025:
Julian afterwards:
“I went into hospital at lunchtime on Thursday, had the surgery that afternoon and was discharged back to the prison [PPP] yesterday afternoon. The surgery took 2 and a half hours because my nose was so badly mangled inside. My head feels like it has been punched but not as bad as when it was originally broken. It will bleed for a few days and the stents come out in a week. No heavy lifting for two weeks, so no move, then no training for 6 weeks. Came back to find my cell trashed. Nice.”
Julian post-nose-surgery (29th Sep 2025):
“I had the stitches and stents removed this afternoon. My head still feels like it has been hit with a baseball bat and I cannot lift anything over 5 kgs for another week and tomorrow is a public holiday in Victoria, but I think they are going to transfer me to Loddon tomorrow.“
Julian post-nose-surgery (5th Dec 2025):
“I am back at PPP for a medical appointment. The ENT surgeon is going to see how my nose reconstruction has gone.”
Julian post-nose-surgery (25th Dec 2025):
He’s back at Loddon Prison.
But wait…
Julian post-nose-surgery (31st Dec 2025):
He’s been transferred from Loddon Prison to Melbourne Assessment Prison (MAP) at 317-353 Spencer Street, West Melbourne (due to his previous Port Phillip Prison (privately run by G4S) having been shut down by the end of 2025 by the Victorian Labor State Government’s previously announced policy decision.
It’s apparently for medical reasons. Nose surgery complications? We don’t know.
