Back in 2016, corporate media 9News reported:

  • In 1992, Knight launched a $25,000 damages claim against the then HM Pentridge Prison Governor, after being illegally held in solitary confinement for seven days.
  • In 2006, he took his fight for access to a computer in his jail cell to the courts
  • In 2007, he fought prison authorities who intercepted a letter he wrote to a victim in 2005.
  • In 2011, he fought a levy placed on cigarettes and tobacco products in prison canteens – it was not just about him, but on behalf of other affected prisoners.
  • In 2012, he sought to be moved out of maximum security to improve his prospects of early release.
  • In 2012 he launched legal action for access to a PlayStation gaming computer.
