<< The Hoddle Street killer, Julian Knight, has accused prison authorities of being biased over his attempts to be moved out of maximum security.

He told the Victorian Supreme Court prison authorities have been stonewalling his attempts to downgrade his security rating ahead of being eligible for parole.

Knight was sentenced to a minimum of 27 years in jail for killing seven people and injuring 19 others, in a shooting spree in 1987.

His non-parole period finishes in 2014.

But the Corrections Victoria’s lawyer told the court the rules allow each case to be treated differently and denied Knight has been treated unfairly.
